2025 Sweater Challenge!

If you’re new to this event, here’s a brief overview: it’s a two-month period during which lovely people (who live in all sorts of places) knit or crochet a garment of their choosing. We keep track of who’s creating what, plan some in-person gatherings for those in the Winona, MN area, distribute prizes, and host a party at the end of February to celebrate everyone’s progress.

It’s a great way to dip your toe in the “sweater-making pool” without feeling like you’re swimming by yourself.
The Sweater Challenge Guidelines (which we try to keep to a minimum) are as follows:

For the purpose of the Challenge, a sweater is anything that covers shoulders and has holes for arms. Period. Vest? Yes. Poncho? Absolutely. Dog sweater? Why not?
You may make the first stitch of your sweater at any point after midnight on New Year’s Eve. But before then, swatching is completely legit.
We will invite you to share your progress via our Ravelry group or by popping into the shop (if you’re in the area).
You’ll be directed to our Ravelry group after you sign up.
We hope you’ll consider signing up if you’re in the middle of a sweater and need a friendly kick in the pants to get it finished. (These makers will be the exception to Guidline #2.) If you’re part of this Work-In-Progress team, please put the letters WIP after your name when you register.
