This hat is the third design in the For the Love of Powell series which celebrates our family’s connection to Ireland and Scotland and the rich fiber history connected to those lands.
The finished size of the hat pictured is 11 1/2” tall and 14” around before blocking and 11 1/2” tall and 20” around after blocking. Do not stretch the ribbing on the hat while blocking.
Needles:
Size 4 US (3.5mm) 16” circular
Size 6 US (4.0mm) 16” circular
Size 6 US (4.0mm) needles to close hat (such as double points, 32-40” for magic loop, two 16” circulars or a set of 3 flexiflips
Yarn: 230 yards of DK Weight Yarn. Sample used Palmer Yarn Company Basic DK 100% SW Merino, 246yards/100 grams.
