Every year we challenge ourselves to create a garment in 2 months. We begin Jan. 1st, and finish by the end of February. We call it the Sweater Challenge, but don't let the name scare you. You create the level of challenge you want. Is this your first sweater? Are you finally tackling color work or fisherman's rib? Are you making more than one sweater?
We'll plan some in-person gatherings for those in the Winona, MN area, distribute prizes, and host a party at the end of February to celebrate everyone’s progress. Also, we'll have a Ravelry discussion so we can stay in touch and encourage each other.
The Sweater Challenge Guidelines (which we try to keep to a minimum) are as follows:
- For the purpose of the Challenge, a sweater is anything that covers your shoulders and has holes for your arms. Period. Vest? Yes. Poncho? Absolutely. Dog sweater? Why not?
- You may cast on at any point after midnight on New Year’s Eve. Feel free to swatch before.
- We invite you to share your progress via our Ravelry group or by popping into the shop (if you’re in the area).
