Got a Gift Card ?
"Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present."
Dear One,
This note is of critical importance, so will involve more pure information and fewer rambling thoughts than usual. The "why" is always my favorite part, but if you just want the facts, go directly to the bottom of this text box.
You may remember that in mid-June we closed the shop and completely replaced our hardware and software in order for our in-house sales to speak the same language as our on-line sales. It was absolutely worth the blood, sweat, and tears. Things are so much better on our end and we're hearing positive things from customers as well.
One of the things that didn't survive the transition is our customer rewards program. (The old system tracked dollars spent and triggered a gift card after a certain mark was hit, which was then sent via snail mail.) And, if you've been in the shop in the last three months with an "old system" gift card, you know it takes skill, half an hour, and a wee bit of magic to make those old gift cards work within the new system.
So, here's the deal: we need you to spend your "old system" gift cards before full-on sweater season and holiday shopping make our small staff unable to work their magic.
How to tell if you have an "old" gift card or a "new" one? Check the back.

If your card is "old school", it has only a bar code on the back, like the one above. Our new gift cards have a QR code:
Here's the most critical part of this news:
Old Version (bar code on back) Gift Cards MUST be used by October 31, 2024.
Regardless of whether we sent it as a reward, or your sweetest friend gifted it to your for your birthday, the clock is ticking.
But talk about a happy challenge, right? You must spend money at the yarn shop this fall!
So go through your old handbags and backpacks and wallets. Check that pile of mail and the basket where you keep your treasures. Find them all. And then come in and treat yourself. If you cannot come in, call us. The old cards are too clunky for a direct online purchase, but we'll take your order via the phone.
By my count, you've got seven weeks to complete this happy scavenger hunt. But don't wait! Treat yourself as soon as possible!
Warmly,
Gaby
