"To say it was the most beautiful day would not begin to explain it. It was that day when the end of summer intersects perfectly with the start of fall."

Ann Patchett

Dear One,

I am, if I'm being honest, distracted by packing and planning for the final weekend of summer at the cabin. I'm hoping for lots of sun and few mosquitos. The upside of that is that I will be brief today!

You'll note that I am not speaking of that season with the pumpkin spice lattes yet. There's plenty of time for that. I'm still hanging onto the season of sweet corn and sunscreen...you can see it in my cooking, in my clothing, and in my current projects.

The perfect crochet project for late, late summer has got to be the Silent Mode Scarf by Toni Lipsy. It's open enough to breathe a bit and cozy enough to get you through a cool evening. And it's crochet--so fast and fun.

The yarn is also fabulous for this time of year: a 50/50 blend from Madelinetosh called Wool+Cotton. The wool is superwash merino and the cotton is pima, so this can be worn near the most sensitive of necks. The colors are displayed next to Elle and you can also check them out here. Two skeins will do it!

If you're anywhere near Winona (or a computer) on Friday, be sure to take advantage of the fact that it's a FIFTH FRIDAY. That means 10% off everything you can fit into one of our Baggu Yarnology Bags. If you're one of our fabulous customers from afar, respond to this email, tell us you have the Baggu bag (or add one to your online order Friday) and we will get you the one-day discount code.

And wherever you may be, please enjoy all of this last, long weekend.

Cheers,

Gaby
