Consider Yourself Invited
"Diversity is being invited to the party; inclusion is being asked to dance."
Dear One,
I know how busy autumn can be, so let me apologize in advance for tempting you to add a couple of things to your calendar. I am completely unable to curb my enthusiasm, so avert your eyes if you don't want to know what's coming up at Yarnology.
First, we just received the Lucky Tweed Sample Trunk Show from the fabulous folks at Kelbourne Woolens. We love Lucky Tweed for many reasons and often recommend it for sweaters and accessories. The pieces they've sent are great inspiration--the hats and cowl will make great gifts and the sweaters may tempt you into planning something for yourself. The Trunk Show is only here through November 8, so pick an afternoon and come in to meet our visiting lovelies.
Second, we expect the Two by Two Trunk Show from Big Bad Wool to arrive sometime in the first week of November. The theme is animals/Noah's Ark, the projects are baby/child blankets and the overall effect is going to be a whole lot of squishy loveliness. We'll have kits available for purchase...some for knitters, some for crocheters. Even if you don't yet know where these wee blankets will end up, you're going to want to wrap your hands in the yummy yarn and get started making them!
Is there any better inspiration than a finished sample? I always feel more confident after having put my hands on the actual piece...and trying it on is even better.
If you're looking for an idea---complex or simple, gift-worthy or personal, knitted or crocheted---stop in to visit these great trunk shows.
A few years ago, Shonda Rhimes wrote about her Year of Yes--where she accepted as many worthwhile invitations as she was able to, in an effort to expand her horizons. I hope you're in the midst of a "season of yes" and that this invitation is just what you need to get your clever hands busy with yarn again.
Warmly,
Gaby
P.S. Tomorrow, October 31 is the final day to spend your gift cards from the old computer system (long bar code on the back). I'd love it if you stopped in or called the shop to use up every last dime on every single gift card!
