A Season of New Beginnings
"Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become."
Dear One,
And, with a snap of her leafy fingers, Mother Nature begins the long, lovely transition into autumn. In my neck of the woods, the nights are tending cooler and a wee bit longer, the humidity has dropped by half, and my morning walk in the woods involves fewer bird scoldings and more hickory nuts.
It feels like exactly the right time to be starting a building project at the shop. We've got a talented team of contractors assembled and the scaffolding is up, so the Yarnologists are preparing for a season of pivoting and adapting. The store will keep normal hours throughout the construction of a completely new facade--so please walk bravely through! OR shop our website. OR use the backdoor. Lots of handy options.
Similarly, it feels like a wonderful time to begin a new project with new yarn and a new pattern. This is the Felix Pullover by Amy Christoffers, which I've got my eye on. I've made the Felix Cardigan and very much enjoyed the process. Both are calm, simple, top-down raglans with a sweetly decorative (but not tricky) lace detail at the raglan increases. Both are the type of sweater you reach for again and again. Both are designed to be knit it Aran Weight yarn (like B&B Le Gros Lambswool or &Make Aran) but also knit well with a hearty Worsted Weight (like Jody Long Andeamo Lite or Palmer Basic Worsted). Maybe you have something stashed that would work perfectly.
Enjoy following your heart. I hope it leads you to some delightful new beginning you weren't expecting.
Cheers,
Gaby
