Holiday Hours in a Nutshell
"Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."
Dear One,
With both Christmas and Hanukkah falling in the middle of the week, we are fielding a lot of questions about which days and hours we'll be open. In case you are wondering, our holiday hours are as follows:
Dec 24: Open 10 am to 1 pm
Dec 25: Closed
Dec 26: Closed
Dec 27: Open Noon to 4 pm
Dec 28: Open Noon to 4 pm
Dec 29: Closed (Sunday)
Dec 30: Closed (Monday)
Dec 31: Open Noon to 4 pm
Jan 1: Closed
We'll resume normal hours on January 2. And the online shop is always open.
If, like me, you know you'll have more time and more creative energy in the new year, I encourage you to treat yourself to a bit of time spent planning for that upcoming season. I'm "interviewing" sweater patterns for the just-around-the-corner 2025 Yarnology Sweater Challenge. (More info on that event will be forthcoming.)
This one is called Sprout and its designer, Tif Neilan, is someone whose work I really admire. I've made some accessories from her beautifully written patterns, but would love to try one of her sweaters. Sprout is knitted in two colors of DK yarn--which is what I'm looking for. But I think I'd want to make it longer, so I have to decide if the pattern would "appreciate" my adding length.
Is this how you winnow the options? Or am I odd? The process of finding the right pattern/yarn combination is almost as interesting as the knitting for me!
We're almost to the solstice, at which point the days begin to slowly lengthen. In my part of the world, that's a big deal. Take a moment, if you can, to celebrate the milestone on Saturday morning. Raise your mug of coffee or tea (or whatever you have at the ready) and toast to the sun and the power it has to lift spirits and warm hearts.
Cozily,
Gaby
